Position: Orthopaedic Surgeon
Location: Fayetteville, NC VA Medical Center (VAMC)
Preferred Specialization: Seasoned in Sports Medicine and Hand Surgeries
The Fayetteville NC VAMC Surgical Care Service Line is excited to announce a wonderful opportunity for an orthopaedic surgeon to join our dedicated and compassionate team. We are committed to providing exceptional care to our veterans, and we are looking for a talented professional to help us in our mission.
Position Overview:
Primary Duties: Care for veterans both in the outpatient clinic and in the operating room.
Focus Areas: Most routine procedures will center around sports medicine and hand surgeries.
Work Schedule: Full-time, primarily day shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Weekly Breakdown: 3 days in Clinic, 2 days in the OR, with dedicated administrative time.
Team and Support:
Current Staffing: 2 full-time surgeons, 1 part-time surgeon, and 1 Physician Assistant (PA).
Our surgical team is a fully integrated service with nurse case managers, nursing staff, and a comprehensive administrative support team.

Board Eligible/Board Certified (preferred)
Facility Overview: The Fayetteville VAMC offers health care services to approximately 80,000 veterans in 19 counties within southeastern North Carolina. Our network includes:
Fayetteville VA Medical Center
Two health care centers, one in Fayetteville and one in Wilmington
18 outpatient clinics
Educational Affiliations:
Affiliated with 44 colleges and universities, including 112 different programs
Stand-alone Dental Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program collaboration with Fort Bragg dental training facilities

University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology
East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine
Campbell University Pharmacy Residency Program
Benefits:
Recruitment/Relocation Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): May be authorized (please reach out for details).
Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): Eligible for up to $200,000 over 5 years, with a maximum of $40,000 per year.
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of annual paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays per year, and possible 5 days paid absence for CME).
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% contributions by VA.
