Orlando Health is seeking aBE/BC Anesthesiologist. The position is to join a collaborative team of anesthesiologists and advanced practice anesthesia providers at the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute. The institute consists of one building with an outpatient surgery center and an inpatient surgery department. The case mix ranges from diagnostic outpatient orthopedic procedures to complex total joint replacement and spine surgery. The responsibility in this position is to deliver an exceptional patient experience with safe, up to date care, while acting as a catalyst to expand the organizations mission and achieve its vision.
Essential Functions
Collaborative member of anesthesia department to work with surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals
Evaluate and formulate anesthetic plan for patients undergoing surgical and/or diagnostic care
Supervision/Medical Direction of certified anesthetists delivering anesthesia
Personally administer anesthesia intraoperatively with continuous monitoring of vital signs and titration of anesthesia needed
Other Related Functions
Maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures
Attends and participates in departmental meetings and educational initiatives
Teach student anesthetists, residents, fellows or other learners
Education/Training
Anesthesiologists must be either an M.D. or D.O. with the completion of an approved ACGME or AOA Anesthesiology Residency program.
Board eligible or board certified in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology or the American Osteopathic Association
Anesthesiologist must complete and meet hospital credentialing requirements.
Training in advanced regional anesthesia and nerve blocks highly preferred
Licensure/Certification
Must hold or be able to obtain active Florida medical license prior to start

The Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute Downtown Complexs outpatient medical pavilion opened in spring of 2023. Providing a full scope of outpatient services, features include advanced imaging services, including virtual reality; the states largest ambulatory surgery center with 12 operating rooms; a 63-exam-room clinic for sports medicine, orthopedic trauma and general orthopedics; and state-of-the-art physical therapy space.
