Acclaim Physician Group, a partner with JPS Health Network is seeking a motivated and ambitious physician to join our dynamic Sports Medicine team. As the county hospital system, JPS has been serving the residents of Tarrant County for over 100 years. This is a wonderful opportunity for an innovative and passionate individual to treat complex medical issues to those patients that need it most.

In addition to the nourishing and rewarding clinical atmosphere, JPS is also an urban teaching hospital with a long history of training physicians and medical students. JPS offers 18 residency and fellowship programs.

Job Summary: The Sports Medicine Physician Faculty will provide oversight and instruction to multidisciplinary primary care sports medicine fellows as part of the fellowship faculty team in a variety of settings, including: clinical, procedural, event coverage, etc., for a patient population diverse in ages, backgrounds, abilities, and socioeconomic statuses. The physician will also be a team member helping to plan and refine the fellowship curriculum and present formal lectures on a wide variety of primary care and sports medicine topics. Providing education to rotating residents and medical students is also expected.

Primary Location: Bardin Road Specialty Clinic (Arlington, TX)

Required Education and Experience

  • Must have a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an approved college of Medicine/Osteopathy
  • Musculoskeletal ultrasound experience

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Casting/Splinting experience
  • Training in Fluoroscopy guided procedures for peripheral joints and lumbar spine
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience highly preferred

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training

  • Unrestricted Texas Medical License and DEA certificate.
  • Board Certified in one of the five primary specialties:  Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and/or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
  • CAQ Certified in Sports Medicine.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be comfortable working in a large public/county facility
  • Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge in area assigned, and competency in assessment techniques, diagnosis and treatment processes that apply to the assigned medical specialty area
  • Must be knowledgeable of advanced techniques and theories in medicine for primary specialty and sports medicine
  • Must have good interpersonal, verbal and oral communication skills to work effectively with other health care professionals and serve as a resource to the community
  • Must be self-directed and take initiative to develop and participate in community activities and medical outreach programs pertaining to the medical specialty area
  • Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behavior

NOTES:
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
