Aspen Valley Hospital is seeking to grow its current orthopedic surgery division (OrthoAspen) by recruiting a board-certified, fellowship-trained adult reconstruction orthopedic surgeon. The ideal candidate will bring 2–5 years of experience in practice and fellowship training from a premier adult reconstruction program. Board certification in orthopedics is a must. Experience and interest in performing both total knee and total hip replacements is required. In addition, the surgeon will be expected to share in the general and sports trauma ER call schedule.
Aspen Valley Hospital (AVH) is a 25-bed, multi-specialty, critical access hospital in Aspen, CO. AVH operates additional regional locations in nearby Basalt, CO and Snowmass Village, CO. In 2016, the hospital acquired a local orthopedic surgery group and formed OrthoAspen, retaining 5 of the group’s existing surgeons. In 2018, AVH and OrthoAspen entered into an affiliation with Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) to jointly manage orthopedics in Aspen.
Based in New York City, HSS is the world’s leading academic medical center dedicated to musculoskeletal health, nationally ranked #1 in orthopedics by U.S. News & World Report for 10 consecutive years. AVH, OrthoAspen, and HSS share a common vision of keeping world-leading orthopedic care in the Aspen community through shared best practices and collaborative growth.
In addition to the clinical qualifications, the preferred candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the local community, as he or she will play a crucial role in building a best-in-class total joint / adult reconstruction practice at AVH.
